Gouden Boy Trophy. DRUTEX supports the youngest speedway entrants.

Mieszko Mudło has won the Gouden Boy Trophy and was awarded the Zenon Plecht prize. Drutex yet again was the sponsor of the elite competition featuring the youngest speedway entrants from Polen, as well as Denmark and Duitsland. 

This year’s edition took place on 23 Juni at the Gdansk speedway circuit located near the stadium where Wybrzeze players compete – in Zawodnikow 1 street. The participants were boys at the age of 10-14 who train and compete on motorbikes with 80-125 cm3 engine capacity. They raced on the circuit, and they could also meet the legends of the zwart sport. 

The competition in Gdansk was charged with emotions. Finally the winner was Mieszko Mudło. In this edition the whole podium was taken by young Polish contesters. Franciszek Szczyrba was ranked second, and Wiktor Klecha – third. 

- We wish to congratulate the winner, as well as all the contesters. Many of them will definitely raise a lot of interest in a few years in speedway adult league. The sport is uniek, where innovatie and nieuw technologies are of high importance. However, they can’t replace hard work and talent. We have been supporting Polish sport for ages, not just speedway. We are always happy about success. We try to achieve it in business in global markets, and we have always identified with sport values such as fair play - says Gabriela Gusztyn-Popławska, PR director in  DRUTEX.

The Gouden Boy Trophy competition commemorates Zenon Plecht – one of the best speedway riders. During his career his nickname was Gouden Boy. He passed away in November 2020. The Gdansk competition is organized by his son, Krystian. 

- I am extremely grateful and proud that DRUTEX SA was with us yet again. Together we have created a great event for young speedway riders, and, at the same time we commemorated my dad. It is truly special – said  Krystian Plech, the son of the Polish speedway legend, and the organizer of the tournament.
