Michał Szpak signs carols for the first time for public
2011/12/15

A special surprise for the journalists - nationwide  and branch media - was prepared by DRUTEX on 14-15th of December. DRUTEX organized an event: "pre-Christmas meeting at the European Centre for Woodwork," whose special guests were: Michal Szpak, Robert Sowa and Maciej Pol.
The day after the official album release, on 14th of December, Michal Szpak presented his debut but also tracks from Christmas repertoire.

The group of over forty journalists came to the ceremony to Szymbark and Bytow (the headquarter of the company is in Bytow). They all arrived for the press conference and pre-Christmas event organized by DRUTEX. A great surprise was also the concert of Michal Szpak – the finalist of the first edition of X-Factor as well as the other well-known artists- Robert Sowa and Maciej Pol. Mr Sowa made not only a spectacular show during the evening but also with great enthusiasm spoke on the proposed menu:

In this special evening organized by DRUTEX company, I led a culinary workshop.  Participants were divided into five teams, each under my eye and my culinary team has prepared for themselves and other participants one of the following dishes:
- composition of sushi with pickled ginger, soy sauce and Japanese horseradish wasabi, spicy cream of carrot with coriander and roasted almonds, fillet of Norwegian salmon with garlic and rosemary served with beans stewed in cream, marinated lamb combry with a salad of arugula and cheese Torta de Cañarejal, tiramisu with seasonal fruit and fresh mint Thanks to the formula of the workshops  all participants could enjoy cooked specialties and check their abilities when it comes to culinary art. "

A great surprise to the participants, however, was a performance of Michal Szpak, who decided to perform songs not only from his  first album which was released on the market on 13 December, but also the Polish pastorals. Song: "Petal wafer," sung in a completely different nature than previously known to the audience, however, maintained in a solemn and festive convention was new for all the guests. This was the way of Michal Szpak saying thank you to all the participants for attending the meeting and confirmed the pre-Christmas atmosphere of celebration. More importantly, nobody in the audience already had occasion to listen to Christmas carols performed by Michal ever before. It was his first public performance of pastorals for listeners with the accompaniment of the world's largest piano playing, which was confirmed by the Guinness record in the book.

"The proposal of singing such a unique song, which is a carol or bucolic, was a complete surprise to me. DRUTEX, which became the initiator of this event has made me surprised, but in a very positive way. Previously I had imagined  a concert at which I am presenting my own repertoire, especially because it has just had its world premiere.  However, I'm one of those people who love challenges and singing carols is certainly one of them. I'm glad I could provide, for such a special audience, with so much fun and show them my  skills. I do hope they will have only good memories from this event and my performance. "- said Michal Szpak.

"Michal Szpak is a person to whom we have great respect and trust. Hence, again we decided to invite him to our ceremony. Due to the festive character of the event, I'm happy that Michal has decided to trust us and also to present a sample of his talent in a little different than usual repertoire ... singing Christmas carols."- said Leszek Gierszewski, President of  DRUTEX
